Hearing God's Voice

Hello friends!!
Things are starting to pick up around here! This past week was our first week of lecture phase. We learned all about hearing God's voice and also what can hinder us from hearing it. Our speaker was Debbie Wiley, she is awesome! There are so many different ways to hear Gods voice but rarely do we recognize that its God. Having a relationship with Jesus is a two way street. we need to talk to Him but in return also listen to Him. We also need to be able to tell about God's voice from the devils. One thing that has really stuck out for me during this week is; We are princes and princesses of God's, He is our daddy! Its such an amazing concept.

Also this week we have gotten our feet in our feet in our ministry. I am with the ministry BJM ( Because Justice Matters ) which is an insight to human trafficking and slavery still happening. This whole week we have learned about all the statistics and what to look for and just had a group conversation about it. We have also done a few prayer walks ( my favorite ). Its awesome to be able to intercede for the people involved in trafficking!

Hot chocolate ministry is a story in its self. San Frat and the TL are different cities day from night. You really get to know people and there stories during hot Choco time. Hot chocolate is the tool to being able to talk to people. People love when we listen and just take the time to say "hi". Not going to lie though its really scary at first when your not use to people just telling you their whole life story, or when they hug you and they are so utterly drunk of high they wont remember you the next day. Its a ton of fun though and I love it! Have a good week homies!

Week 1 of DTS

Man do we have one loving God! So I have been living in the T-loin or Tenderloin area of San Fransisco for the past week now. Oh boy has it been intense. Definately fell in love with it. Here is a little break down of what the T-loin consist of: We have a ton of homeless people, many of which are addicted to drugs and alcohol. The number one drug here is crack/cocaine. Nothing is hidden when you walk by some one. people are just lighting up their pipes right in fron of your eyes. Lower income families, protitutes and massage parlors ( better known as brothels). When we walk up and down the streets you can just feel the spiritual darkness of these people. Us YWAMer's are going to bring the light to the darkness.

Its been a wonderful week getting to know the other DTS students and staff. We all got along from the start and now were just like one big family. There are 8 girls and 1 boy and the boy is married so its like an all girls school. Its cool though, I am enjoying it. I wish I could tell you everything that is happening but its really hard to explain all the feelings and emotions and things that are going on. God is definately moving through this place. Of course I have the best roomie ever!!! Love you Grace :) Haha.

I am so excited to start my ministry down in the TL. I will be working with the BJM ministry ( Because Justice Matters ) for the few months I am down here. It reaches out to all the woman in the Tenderloin that are in strip clubs, prostitution, homeless etc.. also I get to help out with nail day which is painting and doing womens nails! Never thought I would do that but. Its serving Jesus so I all for it!

Hey peeps!

The time is finally here! It's weird to think that I am really leaving. Not quite sure it has hit me yet. YWAM does't offically start until Monday, Bt my posse and I are going to go early and have some fun!
God is good and kept me pretty much sane through this whole journey leading up to today. So excited to see what God is going to do in my life and in the life of all the other YWAMers. Man there are so many emotions running through me right now. Sad, happy, nervous, anxious...etc. God is been faithful in providing support for me finacially and keeping me accountable. Man we serve one big God. Bigger than the boogieman in fact. As I head on the this journey, please continue to pray for me and that hearts and ears would be open.
